Welcome fellow Phinatics! This is a brand new blog, where I will be talking about anything and everything that has to do with the Miami Dolphins.
As you all know this week has been Jets week, which is usually a week full of trash talk between these bitter rivals. This week has not been quite so exciting that way but there are some great story lines that will come to fruition this Sunday night in Miami.
First of all Jason Taylor makes his return to Miami, and with the hated Jets, will he get booed or cheered? I am guessing he will get a mixture of both. Secondly the Jets have some key injuries that I think the Dolphins can really exploit. Kris Jenkins the stand-out nose tackle for the Jets had a season ending injury in the first game. This could prove to be a big factor, if Ricky and Ronnie can get in a groove early and wear down the Jets front three. Thirdly the fact that Darelle Revis is out. Revis is seen by most to be the best shutdown corner in the NFL. This creates a nightmare match up for the Jets as they will now have to put Antonio Cromartie on the Dolphins standout wide receiver Brandon Marshall. If Chad Henne can take some shots deep the Dolphins should be able to exploit the Jets secondary. Finally the the fact that the Dolphins are 2 - 0 to start the season and the Jets are 1 - 1. If the Dolphins are able to pull out a victory that would make them 3 - 0 and give them a great start to the season. If they were to fall to the Jets it would give the Jets a leg up on the rest of the AFC East by being 2 - 0 in the division without playing the lowly Bills yet.
Looking at the Point-Spread for this game, the Dolphins are favored by 0.5 points.
