Thank You Dan Carpenter! The Miami Dolphins Beat The Green Bay Packers in Overtime!

I know it was only the fifth game for the
Miami Dolphins but they needed this win, beating the Packers 23 - 20 in overtime! For the most part the Dolphins played fairly well. The offense was able to move the ball through the air and on the ground.
Chad Henne finished the game with 239 passing yards with 2 touchdowns and one interception.
Brandon Marshall had a great game catching 10 passes for 127 yards.
Ricky Williams and
Ronnie Brown were also very effective on the ground combining for 137 yards. The Defense came up big when it had too, but gave up way too many big plays. The star of the Defense was
Cameron Wake finished with 3 sacks in the game which now gives him 6 on the year. The Special Teams wasn't great but good thing
Dan Carpenter was. Carpenter made 3 field goals including a 53 yard boot, which was a career long and the game winner in overtime. The biggest thing for the Dolphins may have been the play calling by their offensive coordinator
Dan Henning. Henning and the Dolphins ended up with 39 passing plays and 39 rushing plays, giving the Dolphins a very balanced attack. That is the key to winning for the Dolphins, they must be able to control the time of possession keeping the opposing offence off the field and wearing the opposing defense down.
Overall this was a pretty good game and a very big win for the Dolphins which they needed to keep pace with the Jets and Patriots.
Next week it doesn't get any easier for the Dolphins with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Ben Rothlisberger coming to Miami!
